A restaurant and private bar for guests of the Mirador adjoins the hotel in a tower with a 360-degree panoramic view.

The hotel also offers a large garden area with swimming pool, parking and reception, and services such as safe deposit box, phone & fax, laundry, ground transfer to/from international airport, etc.

Samara, a beautiful beach on Costa Rica's Pacific coast, has maintained its original charming village character. The town and its surrounding area offer a large variety of plants and exotic animals, a 5-kilometer long beach with coconut palms and other tropical plants, and the shelter of a coral reef offshore.

It is an excellent vacation spot, with horseback riding, surfing, cycling, boat tours, trips to nearby national parks, discos, rent-a-car, supermarkets, international-style restaurants and more.

LOCATION

Samara, Costa Rica

Fly from the International Airport in San Jose. The flight takes about 40 minutes and costs between US$50 and US$70 one way per person, depending on the season. You will arrive at an airstrip called Carrillo, you will be picked up there free of charge by the hotel car.

There is also daily public bus service direct from San Jose to Samara and return. It is quite rustic but very cheap, just $8. The trip takes about 5hours. From the terminal you also will be picked up by the hotel car.

A taxi would bring you to Samara in about four hours and half with a cost of about $150.

On request and for a minimum stay of one week, the hotel owner would pick you up in San Jose and bring you to Sámara for a covering cost of $80.

ROOMS

The hotel has 6 self-contained rooms - 2 of them with a size of 100 square meters and 4 of approx. 80 square meters. In the sleeping room there is 1 double and 1 single bed. In the lounge is a sleeping sofa that can be turned into a double bed, and in the storeroom is another single bed, that can be added. Also there is a big bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, electric coffee maker, electric mixer, microwave, and other common kitchen utilities. On every terrace, with its panoramic view, you'll find a huge dining table with comfortable wicker fiberglass chairs. Right next to the terrace is the sleepng room and in the lounge you find furniture-like sofa tables, night tables, writing tables, closets, standing laps etc.

Maximum occupation is 6 persons.

Wedding packages

The hotel Mirador de Samara offers wedding planning services.

  • Its no hassle. Concerning the marriage laws in Costa Rica you only need your birth certificate, passport and two witnesses, who can be your friends or family. The hotel will take care of the notary and the translater to be here.
  • If you want to bring your friends and family we can accommodate 25 guests (max. 30), and so the hotel services just takes care of the wedding group (for 1 night, 4, a week).
  • The hotel offers 3 excellent wedding buffets and can include different regional kitchens ( our chef is specialized in European, Chinese and Carribean food ).
  • We will take care of a local marimba band, a tropical flower decoration and not to forget the wedding cake done by a German pastrist.
  • Suggested settings: The reception ceremony with the guests will be held in the mirador of the hotel, an open walled watch tower with jungle surroundings and stunny ocean view. The official ceremony conducted by the lawyer and his translater is on the big hotel terrace, also offering a panoramic view over the beach, Pacific ocean and its tropical surrounding. Also here the guests will enjoy the buffet. Photos can also be taken on the beach.
