Experience Mexico like you’ve never experienced it before! The 6-day journey travels from Cancun to Villahermosa or visa versa.

FACILITIES

Expreso Maya owns four passenger cars: Uxmal, Tikal, Clakmul and Chichen-Itzá. Each car has 64 seats and is uniquely decorated in a Mayan theme.

All cars have roomy comfortable reclining seats that allow you to turn around and converse with your friends. The air-conditioned cars have secure windows, ecological bathrooms, unique upholstery, and a high quality audio system. The mechanical system is U.S. standard.

Accommodations
Stay at your choice of 3 or 4 star hotels on-route, many being all-inclusive resorts.

Bar
We await you in our club-bar “Palenque,” where you may request your favorite beverage from our bartender.

On-board Activities
You may want to sit and play a fun table game, or take time to gain more knowledge of the Maya culture by listening to a pleasant talk given by our lecturers.
If you desire tranquility, you may visit our library. You will find a series of books that will illustrate and acquaint you with the history, archeology and customs of the fascinating Mayan culture.

On-board Dining
Become acquainted with our cafeteria “Campeche” car and enjoy a refreshing drink and delicious lunch. The murals in this car are representative of Campeche's early history as a pirate stronghold. Do not miss out on a delightful four-course gourmet dinners including wine in the beautiful dining room “Merida.” The highly qualified staff will be eager to serve your choice of chicken, beef, or fish while you enjoy breath-taking views and admire this beautiful train so brightly decorated with images of haciendas, Flame trees and lanterns that remind us of the ancient city of Merida.

ITINERARY

The Expreso Maya takes you in comfort and luxury to the renowned destinations of the Maya World, some declared UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity sites.

TRAIN ROUTE: Villahermosa-Palenque-Campeche-Uxmal-Merida-Izamal-Chichen Itza-Cancun ( 7 Days, 6 Nights ) or Visa Versa

1 st Day: Welcome to Villahermosa 's airport. Visit “La Venta” park-museum where colossal Olmec heads and remains of this civilization are in exhibit. Transfer to the hotel. And enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Formal lunch and dinner are included and served in the hotel.

2 nd Day: Breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. Transfer to Palenque, Chiapas ,and visit the archeological site. Lunch is served in a typical restaurant in Palenque. You will have free time to rest. Diner will be served at the hotel where you will be spending the night.

3 rd Day: Board the Expreso Maya. And enjoy our delicious breakfast à la carte aboard our “Mérida” dining car. After mid-day, visit the cenote Agua Azul (open air pond of an underground river) . Back aboard the train continue the journey to Campeche. Aboard the train you will enjoy a formal lunch and diner previously selected by you (wine or beer is included). At Campeche we will transfer you to the Del Mar hotel to spend the night.

4 th Day: Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the archaeological site of “Edzná” and the “Fuerte San Miguel”. Lunch at a typical Campeche restaurant. Free time to rest or take a walk along the quiet streets of this colonial city. Dinner is served in a restaurant downtown. Visit to the old walls of the city where you will enjoy the Light and Sound show.

5 th Day : Early morning, we will board the Expreso Maya and you will enjoy a delicious breakfast. The first stop will be at Maxcanú where buses will transfer you to the beautiful Uxmal: Mayan city declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Back aboard the train enjoy an exquisite meal prepared by our chef while the train continues its journey to Mérida. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner is included at the hotel.

6 th Day :Board the Expreso Maya to Izamal and Chichen Itza. Enjoy Breakfast on board and arrive at Izamal, denominated first magical city of Mexico. Discover the San Antonio de Padua Franciscan Convent from the XVII Century and the Kinich Kakmo pyramid. Board again and continue to the Chichén Itzá archeological site. Light lunch will be served before to arrive at Chichén Itzá. Transfer to your hotel in Cancún.

7 th Day : Departure from the Cancun 's hotel by your own. End of the trip or extend your stay.
