FACILITIES

There is a full range of resort facilities and services. Apart from a five-star PADI Dive Center and all the water sports, some of them are unusual like in the Moorea Dolphin Center where you can learn about and meet our protected bottlenose dolphins. We are also busy creating a Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center to take care for sick sea turtles before releasing them to the ocean.

The Helene'Spa is the first truly Polynésien spa where you can be pampered with ancient techniques and exotic island products.

Dining

There are two hotel restaurants - the delightful Fare Nui Restaurant and the more relaxed poolside Fare Hana.

Location

Moorea: The nature island

Close to Opunohu Bay on the northeast coast of the island, sheltered from the prevailing winds, the InterContinental Resort and Spa Moorea is located voluptuously between the mountains and lagoon.

  • Moorea travel - a regular air shuttle (13 flights a day) makes the 10-minute hop over the Sea of Moons from Tahiti to Moorea. Then taxis and buses are waiting to take you on a half-hour trip, 18 miles (29 km) scenic drive around the coast to the resort.
  • Alternatively, you can catch a fast catamaran ferry from Papeete that takes 30 minutes, followed by a half hour scenic drive transfer from the port.
  • Finally you could opt for a direct helicopter charter straight to the resort's own landing pad.

ROOMS

The 17 Garden Suite Bungalows, the 50 Overwater and 28 Beach Suite Bungalows(also called "fare"), as well as the 48 Garden View Rooms, were all decorated with a concern of combining a respect for the local traditions with non-conspicuous contemporary luxury. Noble woods and natural materials were elegantly used in the decor.

The 50 overwater bungalows are around a series of green islands (motu in Tahitian). They are the largest bungalows, measuring a very spacious 452 sq ft (42 sq m) without counting the terrace. All suites have king size bed and convertible sofa-beds. From their private terraces you have direct access into the lagoon for swimming.

Beach Suite Bungalows Inspired by traditional Polynesian fare, the Beach Suite Bungalows are situated on a white sand beach gently sloping into the lagoon, under the shade of the coconut trees. They are 409 sq ft size, excluding the terrace. The lounge area (with convertible sofa bed) is separated from the bedroom.

There are 16 bungalows garden suites that are dotted throughout the beautiful and fragrant gardens. They measure 409 sq ft (38 sq m) without counting their terrace. Beds are king size and there's a convertible sofa bed in the lounge area.
