Tahiti

The island of Tahiti is the largest and most well known of all the islands of French Polynesia. The island consists of two roughly round portions centered on volcanic mountains. The larger portion of the island, which is to the northwest, is referred to as Tahiti Nui. The smaller portion to the southeast is Tahiti Iti. The capital city of Papeete is located on the northwest coast, and is the governmental center of French Polynesia as well as a gateway to the other islands with its international airport.

Moorea

Many people have described Moorea as the most beautiful place on earth. One of the features that is so striking about this island is the jagged peaks and spires that give the island its unique profile. Like the other islands in French Polynesia, Moorea's presence is the result of volcanic activity hundreds of thousands of years ago. Whatever the cause of today's landscape on the island, it provides an unforgetable feast for the eyes. The island is clearly visible from Tahiti, which is only 16 km away.

Bora Bora

Bora Bora island is possibly the single most famous island in all the world. The legends, mysteries, and romance associated with the words "Bora Bora" bring an almost mystical presence to the island. Two towering peaks of sheer black rock dominate the center of the island and make an impressive backdrop to an assortment of blue waters that will dazzle the eyes. Bora Bora's lagoon is its most treasured feature, and allows the traveler many opportunities to experience it in a variety of ways. Windsurf, jetski, scuba dive, swim, bask in its warmth... the list goes on.

Huahine

With steep mountains descending into protected bays of azure blue and emerald green colors, the island is also geographically diverse. Also known as "The Garden Island" due to its abundance of lush green tropical foliage and wild jungle-like scenery, Huahine is one of the more interesting Islands to explore.

Reiatea & Taha’a

Raiatea and Taha’a are two of French Polynesia's favorite undiscovered treasures. Far less traveled than Bora Bora, Tahiti, or Moorea, these two fascinating islands offer the experience of a true unspoiled French Polynesia.

Raiatea itself is recognized throughout Tahiti as it's "Sacred Island"- the cultural heart of all Tahiti Polynesia. It is believed by historians that Raiatea was the main stopover point for early Polynesians newly arrived from Hawaii. The Island holds much fascinating history, legend, and lore, as well as Tahiti's most significant archeological sites.

Taha’a, slightly smaller and less populated than Raiatea, shares a wonderful lagoon rich in sealife and watersports activities such as scubadiving, windsurfing, and outrigger canoeing. The surrounding waters of both Islands are also known the world over for their legendary sailing, yachting, and sportfishing opportunities. Taha’a's nickname is the "Vanilla Island"- because of it's constant rich aroma of vanilla. In fact, the Island boasts a full 80% of all Tahiti's Vanilla production.
